Part Time Office Help


All duties and responsibilities are listed and outlined in the Job Description, the Constitution of the Stark County Agricultural Society, and the by-laws of the Stark County Agricultural Society. Additional duties may be assigned as approved by the Board.

The following agreements and conditions will be met:

  1. Working a part-time schedule, the Office Assistant will assist the Board Secretary in proper operation and administration of the Fair Office.
  2. Work to be completed as assigned, typically related to office and board related matters. Including but at not limited to:
    1. Managing Fair Book Entries
    2. Tracking and Processing of various Payments from Vendors, Society Members, renters, or other entities, as necessary.
    3. Maintain and keep complete records of proceedings, transactions.
    4. Knowledge in basic bookkeeping tasks:
      1. Bill paying, check cutting, mailings, deposits, invoicing, financial reporting, and assisting with audits as requested.
    5. Ability to maintain organizations social media presence.
  3. Working Hours – Hours of work are subject to change to meet the needs of the Board and the Society. This position is part-time, as such, expected weekly hours are 20-24 throughout the year as needed.
    1. August Hours and the weeks following the fair. – On August 1st, this role moves from a Part-Time Schedule to Full time hours. The employee will be expected to work a 40-hour week, including overtime as needed.
    2. Week of the Fair – The employee is expected to work a full week during the fair, to include the weekend and holiday. This will be a 40+ hour week. Hours over 40 will be paid at a rate of 1.5 times base wage.
    3. End of full-time hours. The decision on when the full-time hours end after the fair is expected to be about 1-2 weeks after the fair ends. This is subject to change and is not an expectation, as such, the Board President and Vice President will notify the employee on when to expect working hours to return to Part-Time. This will happen no later than September 30th.
  4. There are no benefits currently offered to part-time employees. This includes PTO, Holiday pay, or any other benefit referenced in the employee handbook.

  3. Work independently in completing task
  4. General maintenance with upkeep and repairs
  5. Ability to use hand tools safely
  6. Ability to lift and carry heavy objects
  7. Ability to work in all environments
  8. Valid Driver License
